NOBU - fine dining experience in Perth (Heavenly and thumbs up)

NOBU

Crown Metropol Perth, Great Eastern Hwy, Burswood WA 6100, Australia

This is recommended as a MUST TRY in Perth from spouse friend who used to study in Perth.

The entire meal did not dissappoint. I was blown away by the presentation as well as the food taste.

The first dish i MUST order. The wagyu cooked using Hot Stone Flambe.
Its a great show and taste delicious too..

Still flaming....

The beef after flambe.
The chef Nobu Matsuhisa explaining to us the appetiser. But i really can't hear him clearly over the din at the restaurant.
Sesame seared tuna with goma truffle sauce, crispy seaweed and micro coriander topped off with freshly shaved truffle- this is the only dish prepared and served by the head chef.

Prawns with wasabi pepper.

Soft shell crab sushi roll.
The BEST black cod miso i've ever tasted. And the signature of Nobu, this dish literally melts in your mouth. Tasty!
Dessert to finish up the night.
Service is impeccable and the food is all to the point.
This place most definitely cannot be missed.

Nambung National Park - Pinnacles & Yanchep National Park - Koalas anyone? BONUS: Lobster shack

Pinnacles at Nambung National Park

Nambung WA 6521, Australia

Jump for my LOVE. After numerous tries, finally a successful shot.
This will be the second time i am here at Pinnacles. The first is via coach and frankly i was quite bored. Still bored the second time but the scenery is so much better along the route.

The pinnacles drive is a 4 km one way loop with parking bays for you to stop along the loop to view the scenery.
Here i am at the desert view lookout. The higher elevation means a better view. We met a convoy of old vintage cars. Those driving it are quite old as well and i am amazed that at their age they are still driving and so happy.
Driving around the loop allows a different landscape view and different limestone formations. Some areas they are taller than you. And here they are just little cute stumps.

Yanchep National Park

Yanchep Beach Rd &, Indian Ocean Dr, Yanchep WA 6035, Australia

I was hoping to join the crystal tour but we are rushing in from Geraldton as arrive 1 hr before the National Park is close so no crystal tour and the open cave is also closed.

This place is serene and its called the Loch McNess lake.

The koalas fast asleep. Not surprising that they are so lethargic as koalas sleep most of the time.
Somehow i can't spot them and my husband need to point them out numerous times to me.
Hello there. Many birds can be seen here especially near the Loch McNess lake.
The gift shop/visitor centre that doubles up as a display for taxidermy.

Native bush at the park.
Brings to question, what do kangeroos eat? Grass? Per google, kangeroos are herbivores!! They eat grass. I really like this picture as it shows different species co-existing amicably in the same space.

Food you must not miss when you are here.

The Lobster Shack

37 Catalonia St, Cervantes WA 6511, Australia

The food here is absolutely fabulous.
The seafood here are fresh and delicious. We came here not once but twice. First time when we are passing through to Pinnacles and second time on the way back to Perth and to Yanchep National Park.

Guard your food fiercely, as soon as your food is unattended. The clever seagulls will come and make a feast out of your food.

Bread roll is fluffy and is crisp in all the right places.
Small lobster cooked in garlic butter with fries.

Au natural oysters with lemon. Very fresh and briny.
Do order whatever you fancy, as we found out that the live seafood do get out of stock. On our second visit, we wanted to order the live oysters but they are not available. Fortunately, the abalone is available.

Small whole lobster with fries. This time we wanted to order a bigger size but it is not available. :(

The abalone done two ways. And the meat is so so tender. Totally unlike the canned abalone that we eat.

After lunch, join the lobster shack tour. Here, you can see how the live lobsters are prepared for export to overseas. If you wish, you can also order your very own box of live seafood.

The biggest size for lobster and it is priced by the size. Not sure how it tastes as what they have in the restaurant is only small and medium size only. And these are yummy. You can send these babies home. :D

If you are interested in the factory tour, its an audio guided tour with signages. You simple press the no as stated on the signage and it will do the necessary explaining.
