The actual day emergency kit list

One of the most important roles of your bridesmaids is to make sure that you are looking perfect and stress free on your wedding day.  There are so many things that can go wrong on your big day, so it’s best to be prepared for anything.   Most importantly, let your bridemaids handle all matters, however big or small. Its your big day and you should be pampered like a princess.  Eat whenever you have the chance because its going to be a long day and you're less likely to eat during the wedding banquet itself. Here's the emergency kit list: Band aids (Handiplast - get the nude type)  - Just in case Tissues - to wipe the sweat Bobby pins - to fix the hair Safety pins - it freak me out when my train fell apart and i am unable to locate any sewing kit in my hotel room Sewing kit - to fix that dress Comb – to make sure every strand is in place Makeup – for touch ups (foundation/lip stick/ blusher) Blotting Paper – to reduce the shine E...

Hwee Studios make me so PRETTY

Its been months after the wedding and i've completed most of what i wanted to write and share. One of the last few things i love to share is my wedding photographer and also special highlights on the various things prepared for the wedding. The special highlights are important so that every little effort was remembered. Its a must because i've put my heart and soul to it. The photos from Hwee Studios are so pretty that i printed a mind boggling number of 500 pictures. Anyway i've already excercised restraint during my selection. I think i've never looked so pretty in my life. Makes me want to take MORE pictures. Ewwwww.... a wedding photographer is a definite must for a wedding and make sure he/she is GOOD. The pictures are going to last forever. I'm very pleased with my photos. Mucks to apple for making me so beautiful. Super Thumbs Up! I'll let the photos do the talking Vendor: Hwee Studios Photographer: Apple

The wedding shoot with a china made custom wedding gown

There are many rave reviews online on china made gowns. I finally took the plunge in early April and got the gown in 3 weeks. Amazing! You got the thumbs up for speed so what about the quality. Well, i dare say there are local bridal shops that uses china made gowns. And the one i got from is a pretty good quality and it sparkles and blings. The fit is all right and where it doesn't give the omph. I can always use my own perfect solution. The gown has a 80 cm train and it came with a pretty decent price in spite of all the embroidery and lace. I did a little photo shoot with my pretty wedding gown and i'm really glad i did it. Credits to the steven from memories photography for taking the photos. Location: Labrador Park

Digio review - Day to day

Overview This is actually a documentary of how i felt during the MTM session. As this reflects the chronology of the bridal process from the very beginning of trying on the perfect gown to the actual. Thus, this is an extremely long post. Everything documented here is what truly transpired between me and the bridal shop. 25th January 2010 - Design wedding gown Wedding Gown making and measurement: Tried on a couple of gowns. Selected the one that suits me most. The designer casey say he will design something along that line and embroidered. But i'm pretty unhappy as he told me he require me to top up if its an embroidered gown ~ price range he quoted was S$1,800 - S$ 2,000. Obviously, i'm not going to top up especially when i specifically pointed out an dress before i sign up and say i wanted something similar and was told "No problem". So eventually, he relented and say he will design one "especially for me" So walk off happy and dreamy about...

A brand new year

Happy New Year! How time flies, its now 2011. Its been a busy and hectic time since wedding till now. Scouring through my photos to get them developed. Its important for me to keep the wedding memories and make them meaningful. For me, scrapbooking is the way to go. And i've been trying to improve on my skills. Here's one that've made, photo by my wedding photographer, apple from Hwee Studios.

Mini album

I made this cute mini album using our photoshoot photos a while back as i was so into my holy matrimony then. All high and jazzed up. Its so mini and definitely easy to lug around since its the size of a thumb. The quality of the finishing is good. And what i love about it, is the express service. I got it under 1.5 hrs with no surcharges. Whatever is free is good. And now when i want to reminisce about my wedding, i can whip it out from my handbag and browse. How convenient.

The Movie - Childhood montage

This is one of my "biggest" project for my wedding. The montages. I made 3 in all. I pretty satisfied with the final outcome. In case, you are wondering. The montages were made using Imovie in Macbook. This little software makes things a lot more easier. All i need to do is choose the songs, input my photos and have a transition effects. And Yay its all done. (Well almost) There always a need of minor tweaking. Though i prefer it to be more fanciful with more effects but well it beyond the capabilities of the software. Here's my childhood montage which was played before march in. Growing up (Childhood montage R) from val seah on Vimeo . The second was played during dinner with the background music. Behind the scenes from val seah on Vimeo . And now where's the third? Let's keep it in suspense for a little while longer. Buy Macbook Pro from AMAZON for your montages  Apple MacBook MK4M2LL/A 12-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (Gold, 256 GB) NE...

The Perfect Ten movie soundtrack

I had the most difficult time to get my first march in song. To be fair in the literal sense, me and my SO decide to choose a song each. I chose: Aslyn - That's when i love you. For the longest time, i thought i settled my choice of song until i realise how difficult and expensive it is to get the songs i wanted. Aslyn, i realise too late, is a small time artist in USA. Her album is NOT available in Singapore. And for copyright purposes, the songs must be original. OMG. Its 1 month to my wedding then. I tried to make do with other songs. But i found that that "That's when i love you" is the most meaningful and ultimate love song. Thanks to my great sis i finally got the album from another movie soundtrack from Japan - How to deal. Relieved. Here's my first march in song that i really loved. For the second march in, it came from my hotel's song list. Bryan Adams and Barbra Streisand - I Finally Found Someone. The Background Music: Jo...

Till then

Time really flies for 2 weeks. Before i know it. I'm due to fly off for Honeymoon. Here's a teaser to our wonderful wedding album. Till i return then.

The perfect wedding and more than what a bride can wish for (REALLY!)

Its been 8 days after my wedding. Everything still seemed so surreal. The wedding ran smoothly and perfectly. And i felt like a superstar with at least 5 cameras shooting me at any one time excluding the videographer. :) Nearly had a heart attack when the make up artist was late. Agreed time was 6.50 am and earlier. As my mum insisted that i must be out of the house before 9 am. The PGs and VG had all arrived and still no sight of the MUA. *Hopping mad*. Fortunately, the gate crashing is short and sweet. (Send my love to my dear bridemaids) The bestmen never knew the doors ain't locked since the beginning. Funny how gentlemanly they all were. The other minor set backs on the actual day was the bride suffering from lack of sleep. So my efforts of sleeping early for the week went down the drain. And i still ended up with puffy eyes. This cannot be helped as i seriously couldn't sleep the night before the wedding. Sigh! And of course my clasp behind my gown had to give way...

Wedding car - Its was BMW and now a Jaguar!

I have always wanted to have a convertible for a wedding car. More specifically a volkswagon cabriolet in baby blue or white. However, it has gained popularity since the time I started planning for a wedding. Now this little car is getting as hot as my wedding date. I have to forgo it. In search for another car (its a personal preference not to get a Mercedes E200), I emailed several car rental company. Some does purely wedding car. For some, they do rental on a regular basis coupled with 2nd hand car sales. Some of their replies in "fine print" makes me quite horrified. The terms specified includes: - Limited trips and timing restriction "Limited from 7am to 5pm usage,up to a max. of 5trips. Any extension before or thereafter chargeable at $30 per hour per car and subjected to availability at point of request." - no assurance on delivery of service "reserves the right to cancel the booking with a minimum of 1 months notice, in which case deposit w...

The monogram (OURS)

I've done alot of samplers. But in the end. This is what i've eventually used on the card. I know how this is going to sound. But it essentially is the initial to our surnames. And it should be read as M.S. I love how the two letters entwine. This is when two becomes one.

The Free Gift

This little gift came in perfect time. I will put it in use for our honeymoon in few weeks time.

Ambigram

An ambigram is a typographical design or artform that may be read as one or more words not only in its form as presented, but also from another viewpoint, direction, or orientation. My inspration came from chance. I was waiting for time to pass after going to my bridal shop. There are alot of interesting nic nac shops around tanjong pagar if you have the time to explore. To cut the long story short. I saw an ambigram which is a door hanger. Depending on how you hang it. It will spell as Go away or Come in . So i decided to try my hand on it. And i'm so amazed with the results. This is completed in 30 minutes on a bus ride home. :D I hope you can read this? ah....don't tell me even if you can't. Too bad i can't find someone who can engrave it on my ring. (cheaply that is). But i made it into a sticker so i can stick it to anything i want! how cool is that.

Save the Date

Altered crochetted dolls

Yups its the crochetted dolls again. Don't i ever get bored? This is real simple and i'm so glad it works as well as i envisioned. Normally, it really takes forever before i get something that is at least satisfactory. I'm doing this so my pretty dolls can be placed nicely on my bedside table. Materials needed: - the crochetted dolls - rub it ons - paint (leftover from home painting) - oval plaque - Glue First, i rub on the text on the oval plaque that was already painted and dried. Embellish where necessary. I added a red heart. The final product.

My vintage frames

I've been waiting forever for these frames. I chanced upon this as i was surfing etsy. And i finally got my ornate frames. You seldom get to see them in Singapore. Even if they're here, they certainly will cost an arm and leg. These are kinda of expensive too if you consider the freight and exchange. But well, what the heck. I WANT them. It took a really long time to get here. Like 3 weeks after my purchase. Morale of the story don't make urgent purchases. What's in the box? Bubble foam. Tata! the entire family. I got 2 frames at discount. The pink and bubble gum pink. The red one at full cost. Else the frames will cost much much more. But its the cheapest and nicest ones on etsy already. This is my favourite of them all. Soft pink. Very romantic. So many things i can use for them. Terrific!
