Café Dior Osaka: Where Haute Couture Meets Haute Pâtisserie

Sometimes, the best travel experiences are the ones you didn’t plan for—and that’s exactly how I stumbled upon Café Dior Osaka.

A Sister’s Recommendation Turned Hidden Gem

This wasn’t on my itinerary at all. My sister had recommended it, and since I arrived at Kansai International Airport earlier than expected, I decided to hunt it down. After some searching, I was told the café is located after the customs area, which makes it a hidden treasure for departing travelers. If you’re flying internationally, make sure to plan a visit after you clear immigration!

First Impressions: Elegance in Every Detail

As soon as I entered, I was struck by how fanciful and luxurious everything was. The space is a visual homage to Dior’s iconic design language—Toile de Jouy, cannage, and couture sketches adorn the interiors and even the desserts. It’s like stepping into a Parisian fashion dream.

Service That Matches the Style

The service staff were exceptional. They patiently ushered us to our seats, explained each dessert in detail, and made us feel completely at ease despite the upscale setting. It’s rare to find such warm hospitality in a luxury café, and it made the experience all the more memorable.

Desserts by a Culinary Icon

The menu is curated by Anne-Sophie Pic, the most Michelin-starred female chef in the world. Her creations are not just desserts—they’re edible art. From travel cakes to chocolate bars, each item is crafted with precision and plated like a runway piece.

That said, while the desserts were beautifully presented and enjoyable, they didn’t quite blow me away in terms of flavor. They were good, but perhaps my expectations were set a little too high given the setting and the chef’s reputation. Still, the overall experience made it worthwhile.

A Fashionable Bonus: Dior Boutique Next Door

Right beside the café is a Dior boutique offering ready-to-wear collections and handbags. It’s the perfect pairing—enjoy a luxurious dessert, then browse the latest in Parisian fashion. Whether you're window shopping or indulging in a little retail therapy, the boutique adds an extra layer of glamour to the experience.

Final Thoughts:

Café Dior Osaka was a delightful surprise—an unplanned detour that turned into one of the highlights of my trip. While the desserts didn’t completely wow me, the ambiance, service, and overall experience made it a memorable stop. If you’re flying out of Kansai International Airport, do yourself a favor and make time for this luxurious escape.

Kose Beauty Centre Facial Review (Isetan Scotts)

I was very very taken aback when i entered the unassuming beauty salon right in the heart of orchard. While the place is clean and design is simple, it was very sparsely furnished considering its brand name and in comparision with Yamano (the other japanese salon i went).  I entered the facial premises after i passed through the hair salon. What greeted me makes my jaw dropped even more, the room is bare. There is no wall partitions for privacy, in its place are curtains hung to separate the different beds. And i am able to see all the facial therapist and guests. Each therapist handles 2 guests both at the same time!!! From My session suppose to start at 3 pm since my therapist is also handling another customer, i whipped out my phone and start playing candy crush till my therapist is available at 3.30pm. The therapist started by cleaning my face and recommending the appropriate therapy for my skin. I was advised to do the  Whitening & Anti-ageing Treatment an...

Wedding solemnisation at Chijmes - Review

Having a romantic church wedding is the dream of every girl, myself included. But unless you're a christian, its almost impossible to hold your wedding solemnisation at a church.  In japan, the church wedding concept is very prevalent and it comes at a price. One such place is Hotel Monterey Kyoto with a "church" extension that can fulfill a bride-to-be dream church wedding. So if we love to hold a wedding at a chapel in Singapore, Chijmes is the place to go. Chijmes is a beautifully structure historic building complex in Singapore that has been gazetted as a national monumnet. It once housed a Catholic convent school known as the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ) and their convent quarters known as Caldwell House. It has been restored for commercial purposes, such as shopping, dining and an entertainment centre. Here is the views of the former church decorated as a solemnisation venue. For solemnisation, the 2 aisles will serve as the d...
