My journey with a bridal studio is pretty straight forward and simple. Right from the start I knew that I wanted off the rack gowns as I was too lazy to go through the hassle of made to measure gowns and I did see the horror story of the MTM gown from SB. With the spouse out of town, it means alot of decisions is really up to my hands so I wanted everything to be simple and efficient.

After the husband outright said he preferred a bridal shop over any other choices I had showed him, I chose Julia Wedding News as it was recommended by an old family friend of ours. I like the quality of their gowns as the choice of lace/tulle/chiffon were of high quality. The wedding package pricing fitted into our budget and signing the package on our birthday month did help save some moolahs. The item that helped sealed the deal was they allowed me to bring 2 gowns and 1 suit over to Tokyo, Japan for our second reception at no extra charge with a longer rental period. (Of course, that was after some hard bargaining).

In JWN, gowns used for the photoshoot would be different from the actual day wedding gowns (but that is another story to tell, we would save it for the next post) so brides can go for a different look for their photoshoot and actual day.

Second visit to Julia Wedding with husband (in town for Chinese New Year 2012) and sign the contract. Deposit payment of 50%.

05 March 2012
Meet up with photographer to confirm the shooting locations as this would affect the choice of gowns.

12 March 2012
Pre-wedding photoshoot gowns selection (Total 4 sets). Next 20% payment

03 May 2012
Pre-wedding photoshoot suits selection (Total 2 sets), on the spot alteration and final fitting.

04 May 2012
Photoshoot day (Wedding dress indoor shoot, Wedding dress National museum shoot, Chinese Kua indoor shoot, Short Wedding dress Marina Barrage shoot and Evening Dress Merlion Park shoot).

05 May 2012
Selection of photos, Next 20% payment

16 June 2012
View layout

30 June 2012 
Finalise layout for album after 6 draft edits. 

08 August 2012
Actual Day Gowns selection. (Total 3 sets), hand bouquet and bridal car decoration selection. Next 10% payment

28 Sept 2012
Collection of the wedding albums, table top photos and canvas print. Remaining 10% payment.

25 October 2012 
Actual Day suits selection, on the spot alteration and final fitting. Choose accessories needed for the wedding. Collection of gowns and suits for actual day.
26 October 2012
Collection of flower corsages, bouquet, following car ribbons and decoration for wedding car

27 October 2012 
Sit and look pretty as your make up artist dolls you up

I wanted to get weeks about it  I purchased this item from Tangs at SGD $399. They are having a promotion of discount SGD $50 if you spend SGD $500. So i top up with a vacuum tumbler and pyrex glass dish. After several months of using, here are my comments on this cutie steam oven. This is purely a steam oven with no microwave function. One of the rare oven with no microwave function.  I am ok with it as i steam fishes regularly and its a perfect addition of appliance. The other alternative is the miele steam oven and it is on offer at the same time for SGD $1600. The oven can be plugged to main power point as it is at 13 amp.  Summary: Here are some of my observations using the steam oven.  Buns Easy peasy for the early morning rush to work, put the char siew bao into the oven. Kose Beauty Centre Facial Review (Isetan Scotts)

I was very very taken aback when i entered the unassuming beauty salon right in the heart of orchard. While the place is clean and design is simple, it was very sparsely furnished considering its brand name and in comparision with Yamano (the other japanese salon i went).  I entered the facial premises after i passed through the hair salon. What greeted me makes my jaw dropped even more, the room is bare. There is no wall partitions for privacy, in its place are curtains hung to separate the different beds. And i am able to see all the facial therapist and guests. Each therapist handles 2 guests both at the same time!!! From My session suppose to start at 3 pm since my therapist is also handling another customer, i whipped out my phone and start playing candy crush till my therapist is available at 3.30pm. Banquet -Parkroyal beach road (Wedding dinner review)

I attended a wedding in October 2013 at the Parkroyal beach road. Boy! I was in for a surprise. The hotel is newly renovated and refurbished to a very corporate and clean polished look. There is a huge area for reception. Even the exterior area is also revamped (i didn't manage to get pictures for outdoors). You can hold your ROM outdoors and have decorated to an outdoor garden setting. Yes the outdoor area is that huge! This place has changed so dramatically.  By comparison, a banquet held at the same location in 2010, see review here . There is alot more room since the wedding i attended is no longer at the other ballroom. The ceilings of the ballroom are tall, creating an illusion of space and comfort.See the ballroom with the backdrop.
