All about wedding contests

Using the same photo, i also took part in another contest that require us to caption the photo. It was organised by now defunct wedding.sg. what i win, a yellow liner from skin food. I think the liner still sits in my makeup bag somewhere. Since the beginning they say we'll be together come what may my love for you grows day by day despite the obstacles that came our way together we overcame all dear i couldn't ask for more through your eyes till the end of time i'm yours and you'll be mine By the way, i also took part in numerous wedding contests in the magazines but i have never never won anything. So maybe it is destined for me to work hard and pay for my own expenses. The way that is so for everyone else.

How to tone up when you are desperate?

Ok i've been regularly working out (2 times a week for the past 2 months). What i hate most from my workout program is the crunches. I always marvel at the people beside me. Their strength and determination to do continuous set of crunches. That is like extremely painful. After 4 weeks of easy going attitude, the first time i started to make more effort is the time when i went for my first fitting. I need to lose alot of weight. So many of the gowns feel so tiny. OMG! Despite all my efforts, without cutting down my diet, the progress has been slow and tiring. Food is one of the love of my life. So desperation calls for desperate measures. How about exercising while you walk? Here comes fitflops to the rescue. A very expensive pair of slippers. But it came recommended by a colleague and the price has fallen by half already. I wore it while walking along orchard road Tangs from Somerset MRT. I felt my lower calf feeling tired and the lower back too and its for 1 hou...

Fit for the King and Queen - Part 2

I was agonising whether to buy a box spring divan anot? Aside from looking chio, and easy to manage. I can flip the divan over and then slide it across somewhere for spring cleaning. Its going to cost me an additional S$1,200 (Queen) and additional S$100 for (King). But look what i found: A Box Divan without Springs is an evolution of the traditional Box Spring Divan. It was later found that the springs within the box divan doesn’t affect your sleep at no way at all. In fact, you wouldn’t even be able to tell if your mattress is lying on top of a box spring divan or on the floor. Conclusion A box spring divan is an outdated, expensive, useless piece of bedroom furniture. Buy a divan without springs. Happy! More more more! for people who just into details and internet information: #Coil counts are just overrated, we should simply ignore them. #Thickness of mattress is just a ploy to make mattress look comfy in showrooms. No other benefits. #Box springs, totally unnecessa...

Fit for the King and Queen

I believe looking for a bed is part and parcel of every wedding prepartion (ok at least for mine). Beds is another BIG BUDGET item. Over the last weekend, i made a trip down the Furntiture Mall and lay down on a good number of beds. Aside from feeling the firmess of the beds ( refer to end of entry for definitions ), they are generally beds to me. But my significant other (SO) thinks otherwise and more particular. As such, he say, he will make the ultimate decision. Hrumph... Armed with a little red book and pen, i took down the pricing. Namely pricing of beds and other nitty details that the sales person dished out. Like the number of coils, type of spring. After trying alot of beds, (i try to avoid unknown brands), here's some of the shortlisted ones in order of preference. - Slumberland (Royal Princess) - Dunopillo ( Ambriosia) - Simmons (Theodora) Initially, we thought that we will like a medium firm bed. After trying out that many, we prefer a softer feel with pil...

Wedding Invitations Headache

Whatever that comes free may not be exactly as you want it to be. I thought its something very very minor but now its staring flat back at me in the face. Not using the hotels standard invites is most definitely going to cost. :( My ever sane and practical SO tell me that NOBODY is ever going to pay attention to the cards nor keep them. Talking about rubbing salt to the wound. I really dissappointed with the choice of selection. Particularly, when i am particular about design. Granted i don't have a flair for design but i think my expectations are high. Pulls hair more. source from missysee I went down physically to look at the cards and here's are the cards offered at the moment. The ones that are my top choice are the bride and groom invite or the red invite. The alternative is to choose other cards from another file. With additional charges of course though i'm still unsatisfied with the selection. I think i've been badly brainwashed by cardblanche and s...

Personalised Monogram

A monogram is a motif made by overlapping or combining two or more letters or other graphemes to form one symbol. Monograms are often made by combining the initials of an individual or a company, used as recognizable symbols or logos. This is typically very popular in western weddings. Not that much in Singapore. Still i think its something nice to have. Seriously i'm no photoshop expert. I think the ones i did myself are really not very nice. The nicer ones are those editable templates from eatdrinkchic.com. These are shown below. But these are no where near my theme of hollywood glamour. Though it does fit my colour theme of ice blue, red, white and gold. Looks like hollywood glamour doesn't gel with blue very well. I need help!

101 reasons why red, white and aqua is the new black

All the actual weddings i came across while blogging inspired me to chose red and iceblue. And i'm literally drooling over the pretty weddings. I wish i could do more but it'll be unrealistic and i shouldn't have chosen a hotel banquet if i'm doing it all myself anyway. Well, i'll just try my best to incorporate. :D

Immoral Blood suckers

I seriously detest immoral vendors. Yes, we are preparing for the weddings but it doesn't entitle you to rip us off right? The story goes like this: I wanted to get a pair of crocheted wedding dolls for placement at the hood of the car. So i contacted this crafter that i know of who does wedding dolls. Her blog goes by JxxxxxTxx. She advised me of the pricing at S$80 for 6" dolls. Pricing is reasonable and acceptable and i asked her to make for me. According to her she's quite tight up at the moment and she will contact me early part of this year. 3 months flew past and no news from her. So i dropped her another email. Guess what she told me, she don't have any available ones ( the dolls are supposed to be customised hello!! ). And she will make a pair for me that is machine washable and 8" tall. And for her time and materials she will be charging me S$150 !!!! What the F@#$!!!! Granted the dolls she created are cute and nice. But you want to rip me off S$1...
